Flooring

Our floorboards are basically divided into 2 types, new and reclaimed. The reclaimed boards are usually Victorian pine and in different widths as every single building/mill, school or wherever the boards are being pulled out from at any given time varies. The new boards are usually French or European Oak, sourced always from sustainable sources and F.S.C. certified.

Please browse through our new site and take a look at all the different floors that we offer and please don’t hesitate to call us if you have any questions or ideas and we will help you with sound and honest information, and experience coupled with good advice on which floorboard may be best for you.

One last thing to consider, all the work that is done to the boards is all carried out by our own team at Lawsons, we don’t outsource anything or buy in readymade products from anywhere or anyone else. Everything is done by hand in our relatively small but efficient and traditional yard situated in the West Lancashire countryside.

Victorian Pine Boards

All our boards are hand sanded to retain all the character and patina they have developed over the past 100 plus years. This is a very time consuming and painstaking process but it’s the only way to do the job properly. It also gives us control over how much we actually sand off as this can vary from client to client, it depends on how light or dark you want the finished floor to be.

Pitch Pine Flooring

All our pitch pine flooring is re-sawn from old beams salvaged from mills, schools, warehouses etc. To convert the beams into floorboards is a very time consuming and labour intensive process so if you are looking to order pitch pine flooring make sure you have allowed enough time for the timber to be machined and ready to be sent out to site.
