All our boards are hand sanded to retain all the character and patina they have developed over the past 100 plus years. This is a very time consuming and painstaking process but it’s the only way to do the job properly. It also gives us control over how much we actually sand off as this can vary from client to client, it depends on how light or dark you want the finished floor to be.
These are premium floorboards aimed at the client who wants something different and is looking to create a very old looking floor but without the cost of going for reclaimed. These boards are all hand sanded to retain all their character then handpre-finished in our own workshop and supplied ready to lay

We offer a wide range of solid oak flooring. You can specify long lengths or go for ends matched to reduce overall waste .also we do a lot of antique bespoke finishes to give a truly authentic and aged look to the boards. Everything is produced by us so we have total control over all aspects of the job.
All oak is FSC certified.
All our pitch pine flooring is re-sawn from old beams salvaged from mills, schools, warehouses etc. To convert the beams into floorboards is a very time consuming and labour intensive process so if you are looking to order pitch pine flooring make sure you have allowed enough time for the timber to be machined and ready to be sent out to site.

Please take some time to read the below info, its important you understand what we do and how we do it and will help you consider the right choice of flooring for you
Our floorboards are basically divided into 2 types, new and reclaimed. The reclaimed boards are usually Victorian pine and in different widths as every single building/mill, school or wherever the boards are being pulled out from at any given time varies. The new boards are usually French or European Oak, sourced always from sustainable sources and F.S.C. certified.
Please browse through our new site and take a look at all the different floors that we offer and please don’t hesitate to call us if you have any questions or ideas and we will help you with sound and honest information, and experience coupled with good advice on which floorboard may be best for you.
We also manufacture our own engineered floorboards for quick fitting or use over underfloor heating systems.Every single range is now offered in engineered format should you require this. The cost for these boards are always £10 per m2 extra than the solid version, when working out prices.Although more expensive to buy, savings on fitting costs should be made as the engineered boards are much easier to lay.As we make our own flooring the engineered boards look identical to the solid boards as we cut a 6mm wear layer off the same boards to produce this.
One last thing to consider, all the work that is done to the boards is all carried out by our own team at Lawsons, we don’t outsource anything or buy in readymade products from anywhere or anyone else. Everything is done by hand in our traditional sawmill situated in the West Lancashire countryside. If thats important to you then you can guarantee you are 100% buying British made products.Trading now for over 70 years and in our 3rd generation now must mean we are doing something right and give you total piece of mind when buying from Lawsons
