Reclaimed Oak Beams - We hold large stocks of
reclaimed Oak beams in our yard. Most of them are stored on racks for ease of viewning for customers. These are
all undercover and can be purchased either straight off the shelf or fully cleaned up and treated ready for
installation on site.
The cleaning process is time consuming and starts off with all the decaying wood being scraped of with a
traditional drawnife. When this is done we then shotblast them with crushed, recycled glass. The beams are then
hand sanded before being treated with a universal fungus and insecticide. We also can wax them and polish them
should clients require this service
Reclaimed Yellow Pine Flooring - Massive stocks
of reclaimed pine flooring. We cut up and machine old beams in our mill to produce high quality reclaimed pine boards.
These are tongue and grooved, if customers request, or square edged. The boards can also be sanded in our workshop
and if customers really want to take the time and labour out of fitting we can either wax or oil them so they are
completly pre-finished.
Reclaimed Pitch Pine Flooring - This is genuine
reclaimed Pitch Pine not new Honduras Pitch Pine. We machine this out of antique beams and can supply widths up
to 15 inches and long lengths. This is a very high quality and rare floorboard.
Reclaimed Oak Flooring - These boards are very old
and rustic. We cut the edges square so they fit together again and sort them out into different widths. Finally we
hand sand them so as not to take the natural colour from them. This means that some of the boards my vary slightly
in thickness. They must be layed by a professional joiner so as to avoid problems after purchase. Also if you need
us to match floorboards for repair work we can manufacture them to your size in our mill.
New Oak Beams - In our mill we convert Oak trees into
beams for the construction industry. On our bandsaw we can cut beams up to 22ft long. We also make trusses and
supply beams and rafters in kit form. This involves beams being notched out in our workshop for the rafters to
fit into so they are ready for assembly on site. Please contact us for more details.
Beams can be purchased either rough sawn (straight off the saw) or planed up and sanded. We also can adze them to
give them a distressed look. This is particularly effective when new Oak beams have to be used instead of reclaimed
ones when the beams are being used structurally.
New Oak Flooring - We produce our own Oak flooring
in our mill. Most of the time we buy mainly French oak from mills with an FSC cerificate, or if customers specify
English oak we can also supply this for them. It is all kiln dried to 10 - 12% moisture content.
Natural Oak Flooring - This can be supplied in
either character grade for a more traditional look or in prime grade for a more contemporary finish. We supply the
boards in 2 different widths, 6 and 8 inches, and 20mm thick. We can sand them in our workshop so the labour time
and cost is reduced when fitting the floor.
Fired Oak Flooring - This is the same as above but
finished with a burnt surface to give an aged and distressed look
Traditional Oak Flooring - This is another one of
our specialist new oak floors. If you look carefully at the pic you will notice the saw marks that have been left
on the boards on purpose to give the floor the look of reclaimed oak which often has these characteristics.
The floor can be supplied either in natural oak or in our own fired oak. This effect also can be done with our
reclaimed pine. Boards can be supplied up to 8 inches wide with a tongue and groove. This floor can be supplied
pre-finished.
Doors - Ledged and braced doors made to size.
We now have fully qualified city and guilds joiners in our team to manufacture our doors to the highest standard
and quality. They are made using traditional methods and all are built individually to customer's sizes and styles.
The kinds of doors we specialize in are ledged and braced doors but we also offer a bespoke joinery and design
service. This offers customers the chance to visit our joinery shop to consult with our team to discuss their
specific requirements. Our doors are mainly made out of reclaimed pine or oak, using old-fashioned rose head
nails to give them a truly authentic look. We also offer door casings to match the doors, architrave and skirting
boards in either oak or pine, and again machined to customers specific designs. Our workshop is temperature
controlled to ensure a stable environment for the timber and reduce the chances of movement in the doors. Also
because the timber is mostly reclaimed it is normally over 70 years old so it is extremely well seasoned and will
not bend and warp like new timber. We source the pine mainly from mills, schools and churches etc that are being
demolished while a lot of the oak is sourced in France from country houses and chateaux that have become
derilict and unsafe
Oak Worktops - We manufacture bespoke solid oak
worktops out of high quality kiln dried Oak. These can be made either in prime grade, no knots at all, or in
character grade, all knots sanded and filled for a more rustic and distresed look. We make them out of wider
planks than the usual solid wood worktops and use a loose tongue to glue them together. This is seen on the
endgrain of the tops. These are all made by hand in our workshop by our own team of carpenters. Please phone
for details
Steel Beam Cladding - We manufacture these
boxes in either reclaimed pine or oak. These are supplied fully finished to be fitted on site. We distress them
using traditional methods and tools such as draw knifes and hand adzes. We can make them to suit any size of
beams and they are all made in house by our own fully qualified joiners. Please phone for details
Fireplaces / Surrounds - All our fire surrrounds
are made our of reclaimed timber. They are made to customers specific styles so they fit any size fireplace.
Phone us with your requirments and we will gladly price the size you need. The fireplace in the picture above costs
£350. None of our fireplaces are mass produced so all pieces are unique and individual. Please phone for details
